New York state criterium championships were held along with NRC races this past weekend at the 30th running of the Chris Thater Memorial in Binghamton. The state champions are as follows:

Thanks to Matt Vandivort (RD) for pulling together the necessary arrangements as USADA completed their first test of NY riders as part of the NYSBRA “RaceClean” program.  The tests took place immediately following the Lou Maltese Memorial in Central park this morning.

 

We kept the testing a secret until the podium ceremony whereupon the top three men Cat 1-2-3 where asked to do their duty.   Matt reports that the testing and presence of USADA at a NY race is already generating a lot of buzz on the NY egroups.  Very well done to Matt!

 

We can expect testing at a minimum of one more race this season under the NYSBRA RaceClean contract,  maybe more if USADA can optimize travel costs.  Stay tuned!
