Expanding Representation
We’re excited to announce that we are expanding the purview of our Women’s Rep board seat to be the Women/Trans/Femme/Non-Binary Rep. The goal of this role is to give organizers, race directors, and officials across New York State a dedicated person that can provide help and guidance to make bike racing more inclusive and expansive of all gender identities. NYSBRA’s founding goal is to serve the bike racing community, and this new position helps us better achieve that goal by dedicating time and resources to events across the state – giving the tools to organizers to create safer, more inclusive events and welcome bike racers of all kinds to the start line.
NYSBRA 2022 Crit Champions Announced!
From the winter snow to the peak summer highs, Grant’s Tomb proved that it’s a season highlight regardless of weather. With nearly 450 unique starters and 14 fields, we had an action packed day of racing, filled with the positive competitive spirit that inspires all of us to roll up at the start line. CRCA is incredibly thankful for all of the club members, teams, staff, and sponsor support that made this race so special.
NYSBRA Crowns Time Trial Champions
Beautiful weather and a great turnout greeted riders yet again to rural Tioga Center for “The Race of Truth.” Riders started at minute intervals to give everything they had over their race distance of either 10k, 20k, or 40k. Many riders chose to double up entries or actually double up on racing, doing either 60k or even 80k total for the day! Many of these tough racers first did an Individual TT by race category or age, then turned around and did either an “Eddie Merckx” non-aero race, tandem, or a Team Time Trial (because suffering is so much more fun with friends!) Congratulations to all the new NYSBRA State Time Trial champions and competitors!
